  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 8 slices crispy turkey bacon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  3. Shape into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat; brown the meatballs on all sides (about 5-7 minutes).
  5. Add BBQ sauce to the skillet and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  6. Slice sub rolls lengthwise and toast in the oven for about 5 minutes.
  7. Assemble by placing meatballs inside each roll and topping with cheddar cheese and turkey bacon.
  8. Return subs to the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes until cheese melts.
