- 1 cup whole milk (warm)
- 3 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 1.5 teaspoons salt
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
- 1/4 cup salted butter (for garlic butter)
- 2–3 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
- 1–2 tablespoons fresh parsley
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let it activate.
- Add sugar, flour, egg, salt, and softened butter; mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a clean surface for about 15 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled (90 minutes).
- Divide the dough into 12 pieces and shape into balls; let them rise again for about 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Brush rolls with egg wash and bake for 20-22 minutes until golden.
- While baking, melt butter with garlic; brush over rolls once out of the oven.
