  • ⅔ cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup strong coffee
  • ¼ cup milk (or non-dairy alternative)
  • ¼ cup heavy cream (or coconut cream)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, molasses, ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Bring to a boil while stirring until sugar dissolves. Once boiling, remove from heat and let cool.
  2. Whisk together 1 tablespoon of gingerbread syrup with heavy cream until thickened.
  3. Heat milk in a pot or microwave until warm. Froth using a French press or frother.
  4. Stir two tablespoons of gingerbread syrup into brewed coffee. Pour in frothed milk and top with gingerbread cream and optional garnishes like cinnamon or a gingerbread cookie.
