  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 8 tbsp unsalted butter (divided)
  • 1/4 cup boiling water
  • 1 1/2 cups toasted and coarsely chopped pecans
  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  1. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, and evaporated milk. Stir until dissolved.
  3. Insert a candy thermometer and cook until the mixture reaches 240°F (soft ball stage).
  4. Remove from heat and add cubes of butter on top without stirring. Let sit for one minute.
  5. After resting, stir in toasted pecans until well combined.
  6. Quickly drop spoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet before the mixture sets.
  7. Allow pralines to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes before serving.
