  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped turkey bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the bacon while leaving the grease.
  2. Sauté the diced onion in the bacon grease until translucent, around 3-5 minutes.
  3. Stir in brown sugar, garlic powder, and black pepper; cook for another 2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add fresh green beans to the skillet, stirring to coat them with the onion mixture.
  5. If using chicken broth, pour it in now and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook on low heat for about 15 minutes until tender.
  6. Return the crispy turkey bacon to the skillet and mix well to warm through.
  7. Season with salt to taste before serving.
