  4. Incorporate tomato paste and beef stock, stirring until combined. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Let the mixture simmer for 10–15 minutes, adjusting thickness if desired with a cornstarch slurry.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper before serving hot.
