Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until combined.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just incorporated.
  6. Fold in the chopped dates and walnuts (if using).
  7. Drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet with space between each scoop.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown around the edges.
