  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 12-ounce package semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 13×9 baking pan with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt; mix until smooth using an electric mixer.
  3. Add flour and oats; mix until just combined. Reserve 1 heaping cup of the mixture.
  4. Press remaining oat mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan and bake for about 10 minutes.
  5. In another bowl, mix peanut butter and sweetened condensed milk until smooth; pour over the partially baked crust.
  6. Crumble half of the reserved oat mixture over the filling, top with chocolate chips, then sprinkle remaining oat mixture on top.
  7. Bake for an additional 25 minutes or until lightly browned on top.
  8. Cool completely in the pan before lifting out using foil to cut into bars.
