  • 68 slices of pane di casa bread
  • 1/2 cup ripe tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves (chopped + extra for garnish)
  • 2 garlic cloves (one minced and one for rubbing on toast)
  • 1/2 red onion (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven or grill pan to medium-high heat. Slice the pane di casa bread into 6-8 pieces and lightly brush each slice with olive oil.
  2. Toast the bread on a baking sheet for about 5 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
