Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of water to create a slurry; set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, toast the red chili flakes for about 3 minutes.
  3. Add rice vinegar, water, sugar, minced garlic, and soy sauce; bring to a boil while stirring occasionally for about 4 minutes.
  4. Lower the heat and slowly whisk in the cornstarch slurry until the sauce thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and let it cool before storing in an airtight container.
