  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 6 oz dark chocolate bar (chopped)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp kosher sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter until almost fully melted but still has soft pieces.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt.
  4. In a stand mixer, beat melted butter with granulated and brown sugar until smooth. Add orange zest and vanilla; mix well. Incorporate eggs one at a time.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients until just combined, then fold in chopped dark chocolate.
  6. Chill dough for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  7. Scoop dough into balls and place on prepared sheets with space in between.
  8. Bake for 11-13 minutes until edges are golden brown; cool on the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
