  • 2 lbs ribeye steak (thinly sliced)
  • 1 red bell pepper (chopped)
  • 1 green bell pepper (chopped)
  • 1 medium white onion (chopped)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp ginger (minced)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup soy sauce
  • 1¼ cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (divided)

Instructions

  1. 1. Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 5-6 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  2. 2. In the same skillet, add another tbsp of oil and sauté the chopped peppers and onion for about 3-4 minutes until tender.
  3. 3. Return the steak to the skillet with the vegetables.
  4. 4. In a bowl, mix garlic, black pepper, ginger, brown sugar, soy sauce, beef broth, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and cornstarch until combined. Pour over the meat and veggies.
  5. 5. Bring to a simmer for 4-5 minutes until sauce thickens.
  6. 6. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
