Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • optional herbs, cheese, or garlic for flavor

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Grease a baking sheet with vegetable oil or line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  4. Add milk and vegetable oil to the dry mixture and stir until a rough dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about one minute until smooth and elastic.
  6. Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on the prepared baking sheet. Score the top if desired.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
