Method
Prepare the Oven and Pan
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
Mix Wet Ingredients
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until well combined.
Combine Dry Ingredients
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
Combine Mixtures
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in the diced apples and walnuts if using.
Bake
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve
- Allow the blondies to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.
