Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour spooned and leveled
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon optional
Add-ins
  • 2 cups apples peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1/2 cup walnuts chopped, optional

Method
 

Prepare the Oven and Pan
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
Mix Wet Ingredients
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until well combined.
Combine Dry Ingredients
  1. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
Combine Mixtures
  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in the diced apples and walnuts if using.
Bake
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve
  1. Allow the blondies to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.
