Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour plus more for dusting
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk warm
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg
Filling
  • 1/2 cup apple butter
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
Make the Filling
  1. In a small bowl, mix together apple butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar until well combined.
Roll and Fill
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. After the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  3. Spread the apple butter filling evenly over the dough.
  4. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 8 equal pieces.
  5. Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake the Rolls
  1. Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
Prepare the Glaze
  1. In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Drizzle the glaze over the warm cinnamon rolls before serving.
