Ingredients
  

Bread
  • 8 slices sourdough bread or your choice of bread
Cheese
  • 8 ounces brie cheese rind removed and sliced
Fruit
  • 1 cup fresh figs sliced
  • 1 medium apple thinly sliced, preferably a sweet variety like Fuji or Honeycrisp
Butter
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter softened for spreading
Honey
  • 2 tablespoons honey for drizzling, optional

Method
 

Prepare the Ingredients
  1. Slice the brie cheese and apple. Slice the figs if not already done.
  2. Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
Assemble the Sandwiches
  1. On the unbuttered side of four slices of bread, layer brie cheese, fig slices, and apple slices.
  2. Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side facing out.
Cook the Sandwiches
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  2. Remove from skillet and let cool for a minute before slicing.
Serve
  1. Drizzle with honey if desired and serve warm.
