Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Add-ins
  • 1 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet

Method
 

Prepare the Oven
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Mix Dry Ingredients
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Cream Butter and Sugars
  1. In another bowl, use an electric mixer to cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add Egg and Vanilla
  1. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
Combine Mixtures
  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Fold in Chocolate Chips
  1. Gently fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula.
Scoop and Bake
  1. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Cool and Serve
  1. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
