Ingredients
  

Fruits
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries washed
  • 3 cups apples peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 cup sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 cup water
Spices
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves

Method
 

Prepare the Ingredients
  1. In a large saucepan, combine the cranberries, chopped apples, sugar, and water.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Cook the Mixture
  1. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan.
  2. Simmer for about 45 minutes, or until the cranberries have burst and the apples are soft.
Blend and Spice
  1. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. Use a blender to puree the mixture until smooth.
  3. Return the pureed mixture to the saucepan and stir in cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
Final Cooking
  1. Cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, stirring frequently, until thickened.
  2. Remove from heat and let cool completely before transferring to jars.
