Ingredients
  

Fruits
  • 2 cups fresh figs chopped
Liquids
  • 1 cup red wine preferably a fruity variety
Herbs
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary finely chopped
Sweeteners
  • 1 cup granulated sugar adjust to taste
Acid
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed

Method
 

Prepare the Ingredients
  1. Wash and chop the figs into small pieces, removing any stems.
  2. Finely chop the fresh rosemary leaves.
Cook the Jam
  1. In a saucepan, combine the chopped figs, red wine, sugar, and lemon juice.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and add the chopped rosemary.
  4. Simmer for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens.
Jar the Jam
  1. Remove the saucepan from heat and let the jam cool slightly.
  2. Pour the jam into sterilized jars and seal tightly.
  3. Allow to cool completely before storing in the refrigerator.
