French Onion Ground Beef and Rice Casserole

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef (lean)
  • 0.5 to 1 tsp garlic salt or to taste
  • 2 cans (10.5 ounce) beef consume
  • 2 cans (10.5 ounce) French onion soup
  • ¾ cup water
  • 2 cups long grain white rice (uncooked)
  • ¾ cup butter (1½ stick, cut into slices)

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F and spray a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with garlic salt until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
  3. Transfer the cooked ground beef to the baking dish, then add the uncooked rice, both cans of French onion soup, beef consume, and water. Stir to combine.
  4. Slice the butter and place it evenly on top of the mixture in the baking dish.
  5. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and bake uncovered for another 30 minutes.
  7. Let the casserole sit for a few minutes before fluffing the rice with a fork and serving.
