Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cardamom
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice

Method
 

Prepare the Muffin Batter
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease the muffin tin.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cardamom.
  3. In another bowl, combine the sugar, melted butter, buttermilk, eggs, orange zest, and orange juice. Mix until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
Bake the Muffins
  1. Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
