Ingredients

  • 4 fillets salmon about 6 ounces each
  • to taste salt freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest for garnish

Method

  1. Season your salmon fillets generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the salmon fillets, skin side down, and cook undisturbed for about 4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. In the same skillet, combine fresh orange juice, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir to combine.
  4. Bring the orange mixture to a gentle simmer while stirring occasionally. Add the cornstarch mixed with water, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy, about 2 minutes.
  5. Return the salmon fillets to the skillet and spoon the thickened orange glaze over each piece. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  6. Transfer the glazed salmon fillets onto plates and drizzle any remaining sauce from the skillet over them.
  7. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and a sprinkle of orange zest before serving.
