Method
- Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- On the unbuttered side of two slices of bread, spread about 2 tablespoons of marinara or pizza sauce, sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese, layer turkey pepperoni, and any additional toppings. Top with another slice of bread, buttered side out.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the assembled sandwiches for about 3–5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove sandwiches from the skillet, let cool for a moment, slice in half, and serve with extra marinara or pizza sauce on the side.
