In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt, then gradually add to the wet ingredients until just combined.
Drop dollops of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, pressing your thumb into the center of each to create an indent.
Bake for about 10–12 minutes until golden around the edges but still soft in the middle.
Melt the chocolate chips and drizzle over each cookie once they have cooled slightly.
