Ingredients
  

Salad Base
  • 8 cups fresh spinach washed and dried
  • 1 medium apple thinly sliced
  • 4 oz gorgonzola cheese crumbled
Candied Walnuts
  • 1 cup walnuts halved
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Dressing
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

Prepare Candied Walnuts
  1. In a pan over medium heat, combine sugar and water. Stir until sugar dissolves.
  2. Add walnuts and cinnamon, stirring to coat. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Remove from heat and spread on parchment paper to cool.
Make the Dressing
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
Assemble the Salad
  1. In a large bowl, combine spinach, sliced apple, and crumbled gorgonzola.
  2. Add the cooled candied walnuts on top.
  3. Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine.
  4. Serve immediately on salad plates.
